PURPOSE:To lessen the power loss of a snubber circuit and improve the efficiency of a device by withdrawing the energy of the snubber circuit provided in a self extinguishing element to a constant current source. CONSTITUTION:When a snubber capacitor 5b discharges, current flows from the snubber capacitor 5b through a switching element 1b, a snubber diode 4c and a constant current source DISC to the snubber capacitor 5b. Accordingly, this discharge energy, that is, the snubber energy is withdrawn to the AC power source AC constituting a constant current source DISC. Similarly, when a snubber capacitor 5c discharges, current flows from the snubber capacitor 5c through a constant current source DISC, a snubber diode 4b and a switching element 1c to the snubber capacitor 5c, and the snubber energy is withdrawn to the AC power source AC. Hereby, a high-efficiency NPC inverter can be obtained. |
