The inlet, for the transfer of combustible gases through the cylinder head into the combustion chamber, is formed to present one end (7) for connection to the inlet manifold, with the other end (8) opening into the combustion chamber, via an orifice (2), which provides a valve seat (3). The valve, fitting into the seat, is mounted so as to slide within the valve guide (4), which is fitted into the cylinder head. The internal surface, of the chamber end (8) of the inlet, is formed as a surface of revolution about the longitudinal axis Z-Z', which is inclined at an angle (b), with reference to the longitudinal axis Y-Y' of the valve guide (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - It gives improved flow characteristics and retains a low profile.
