<p>PURPOSE:To effectively use the recording area of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal (m) picture elements and vertical (n) lines {(m)=(n)=8, for instance} are defined as the block 12 of an unit and the picture data of the effective screen 10 of the horizontal M picture elements and the vertical N lines (N=1035, for instance) are compressed by the block unit 12 to be recorded to the recording medium. When N/n is not an integer, additional data (the data of a bar code system, for instance) for (a) lines {(a) is the integer to be 1<=(a)<(n) and N+(a) is the integral multiple of (n)} are added to an additional area 14 below the final line of the effective screen 10 and the additional data are formed with significant data except the picture data of the effective screen 10. Since the additional data to be added to the additional area 14 are the significant data, compared with a conventional example where excessive data are added to the additional area 14, the recording area of the recording medium can be effectively used.</p> |
