PURPOSE:To process the tone color based on the principle of frequency modulated musical sound synthesis by performing the modulation control of a delay time by a modulation signal based on pitch designating information. CONSTITUTION:When pitch designating information KC indicating the pitch of a waveform signal to be generated is inputted, waveform data related to each sample point amplitude value of a reference waveform signal which has a frequency in the audible band corresponding to pitch designating information KC is generated from a reference waveform generating means 2. This waveform data is successively inputted by a delay means (shift register) 3 and is delayed and outputted. Meanwhile, the modulation signal is generated from a modulation signal generating means 5 based on pitch designating information KC, and the modulation control of the delay time of waveform data outputted from the delay means 3 is performed in accordance with the change with time of the modulation signal. Thus, the signal obtained by modulating the frequency of the reference waveform signal having the frequency in the audible band by the modulation signal in the audible band corresponding to pitch designating information KC is obtained as the delay output of the delay means 3. |
