The appts. relates to position control systems driving an electromechanical actuator (16) using a motor (12). A speed sensor (18) generates a signal representative of the motor speed. A position sensor (24) generates a signal representative of the position of the actuator. The sensor signals are combined in a filter circuit (20) producing a final feedback signal (28) used to close the control loop. The time constant of the filter is chosen in order to improve the bandwidth of the system and to obtain the desired speed of response of the system. USE/ADVANTAGE - Closed loop electromechanical position control for e.g. aircraft control surfaces with improved stability.
