PURPOSE:To automatically generate a whisker in accordance with a condition to quickly and easily obtain a printed matter of high quality. CONSTITUTION:Control point data of a one-character portion is read out of an auxiliary storage device and is loaded into the input buffer of a memory (step S1). Only control point data belonging to one polygon out of this loaded control point data is selected, and one control point is selected and is given to a CPU (step S3). It is discriminated whether the control point is the 'edge' type or not in accordance with the value indicating the type of the control point of given data (step S4). If it is the 'edge' type, a vertical angle alpha of the outline at this control point is obtained, and it is discriminated whether this angle is smaller than a maximum value (alpha2 or not (steps S5 and S6). If it is smaller than the maximum value, the vertical angle alpha is compared with a threshold dl (step S7) to determine a dot string prescribing a whisker (steps S8, S9, and alpha10). It is outputted as control point data having the attribute of 'edge' in a step S11. |
