<p>A sliding gate valve (5) for a vessel (6) containing molten metal comprising a mounting plate (8), a frame (11), a carrier (25) for reciprocation in the frame, a spring plate (12) having a central aperture (22) for receiving a collector nozzle (17), a sliding plate (16) positioned in the carrier (25) and having a collector nozzle (17) passing through the spring plate (12), a plurality of inverted beam springs (23) with pressure points extending outwardly from the spring plate (12), a plurality of cantilever springs (80) offset on the spring plate (12) and therebetween onto the carrier (25), the slide plate (16) having continuous curved edges for being secured to a pressure plate and means in the carrier for pressing the beam springs (80) on the spring plate (12) surrounding the teeming orifice.</p> |
