The invention concerns an armature for an electrical machine, with a winding or rotor assembly mounted on shaft, the winding or rotor assembly surrounding the shaft coaxially. Located between the shaft and the winding assembly is an annular cavity which increases in diameter like a cone towards the front end or the front face of the winding assembly and/or shaft. Also fitted is a sleeve whose cross-section corresponds to that of the annular cavity so that it can be inserted in the cavity and fixed in the cavity by frictional locking.
