A work lamp is presented in which in order to improve the removal of heat and to prevent the reflector from heating up provision is made of a screen (8, 27, 45) which is designed to be transparent at least in the region where the light impinges on the reflector and which essentially contains entry openings (48) for cooling air which are situated in front of the reflector only at the front end and exit openings (49) for cooling air which are situated behind the reflector.
