The invention relates to a crank-operated window (14) in the cab door of a lorry with a window guide rail (15) bordering the window pane (12). This guide rail is of two-part design, to be precise it has an outer window guide-rail part (1) and an inner window guide-rail part (3), the outer part (1) of the window guide rail (15) being placed on the door fold (7) and the inner part (3) being placed on a plug-in lug (10) of the inner window frame (8) which is later bolted to the door, and the two parts (1, 3), after they have been fitted together, forming a closed "U". The method for fitting and effecting the sealing function of the crank-operated window (14) takes place in such a manner that after inserting and rolling the outer window guide rail (1), with the two window guide profiles (6) hanging downwards, towards the door fold (7) and attaching a corresponding window lifting device, the window pane (12) is cranked downwards, the two window guide profiles (6), which hang downwards, being automatically pressed into the holding profiles (13).
