Described is a method of manufacturing a watch (11) with a face (7) and case back (4) made from a coin or medal, the mechanism (5) being fitted between the case back (4) and face (7), as are hands (8, 9) and a shaft (14) which passes through a bore in the face. In this method, a coin or medal (22) is cut into two discs by a wire saw (15) with a driven cutting wire (34), one of the discs being used as the watch face (7) and the other as the case back (4), and the bore for the shaft (14) being drilled in the face (7) after the cutting operation. |
