Cable strand path deflector with minimum number of rotating parts - is flexible tube guide fixed to the frame

The deflection unit in the path of cable strands, between their bobbins and the cable twister, is a flexible tube guide (6) at a frame (14), with a circular cross section to hold the strand material. One end rotates at the strand entry through an entry bush (4), and the other end rotates at a carrier arm (10) with a bearing (9). The carrier arm (10) has an adjustable mounting at a carrier (12) through a linkage (5), with a number of degs. of freedom. The carrier arm has a telescopic axial and radial adjustment mounting at the linkage (5). A further similar carrier arm (7) is at the carrier (12), or several arms can be fitted to support the guide. The flexible tube is pref. an elastic hose together with a reinforcement of tightly wound wire coils for section stability. The carrier (12) has a bending carrier at one side for mounting to the frame (14), as a lever carrier (12). A monitor (13), connected to a brake (15) at the strand unwinding drum or bobbin, is between the carrier (12) and the frame (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly deflects the path of the strand material from the bobbins to the cable twister, to rotate with the twisting action. The system has a min. number of rotating parts, with automatic control of their tension, with a variable deflection action according to mfg. or technical requirements.
