A point setting apparatus of a robot having a terminal, a teaching box, an upper controller connected with a ROM and a RAM, a lower controller and a motor is operated by setting a reference point, inputting information of a point name that will set the number of points of one line and the number of points of one column, obtaining a start point of one line from a start point of a first line and a start point of a last line, obtaining a last point of one line from the last point of the first line and a last point of the last line, calculating APx value of a real set point from the start point of one line and the last point of one line, storing the calculated APx value on a point data storage memory, checking whether the point calculation of one line is finished or not, and checking whether the point number setting desired by a user is finished or not. Thus, calculating time is saved and data of all set points can be checked by the user when needed.
