Appts. for cleaning small metal, ceramic or plastic components comprises: (i) a cleaning tank (24) in which a cleaning fluid loosens contaminants from the components (23); (ii) a cleaning fluid storage tank (26) underneath the cleaning tank (24) which can be hermetically sealed by a cover (17,18) operated from outside the appts.; (iii) a heating chamber (31) below the fluid storage chamber (26) containing a heating fluid and a heating system (32); and (iv) vents (28) in the fluid chamber (26) for vaporised cleaning fluid.
