PURPOSE:To provide castable refractories excellent in corrosion and spalling resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective castable refractories have a compsn. consisting of 20-60wt.% alumina, 0.3-5wt.% fine powder of light burned magnesia and the balance essentially MgO-Al2O3 spinel and are composed of regulated coarse, medium and fine grains. At least 20wt.% of the alumina basing on the entire compsn. has <=1mm grain diameter or at least 10wt.% of the alumina has <=0.15mm grain diameter. Durability comparable to that of fired magnesia- chrome brick is exhibited. |
