A slip sensing apparatus for determining a driving state of a driving wheel driven by a motor by means of a signal of an encoder installed on the motor includes a free wheel to be parallel to the driving wheel, and a free wheel encoder attached to a predetermined portion of a support plate for determining slip amount generated between the earth's surface and the driving wheel by sensing the driving state of the free wheel, so that the slip amount of the robot is accurately sensed to not only improve overall working efficiency but also secure reliability while the safety accident liable to occur during working due to slipping is prevented beforehand.
