PURPOSE:To obtain the catalyst which has high NOx removing performance in wide range of temp. and reduces NOx contained in the exhaust gas from an automobile by depositing yttrium by ion exchange on the surface of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:Yttrium is deposited by ion exchange on the carrier selected among zeolite, mordenite and alumina, etc. The purifying catalyst for exhaust gas has high NOx removing performance not only in high temp. area but also in low temp. area, and can remove or reduce NOx contained in the exhaust gas from an automobile in wide range of temp. In accordance with the performance, the catalyst becomes adaptive to the traveling condition of the automobile over a wide range, and prevents environmental contamination resulted from NOx. |
