PURPOSE:To obtain a strain MHF-3, belonging to Pseudomonas.putida and excellent in productivity of a poly(hydroxyalkanoate), excellent in biodegradability, biocompatibility and mechanical characteristics and useful as medical materials, etc. CONSTITUTION:The strain MHF-3 (FERM P-12972) belongs to Pseudomonas.putida and is excellent in productivity of a poly(hydroxyalkanoate). Furthermore, this strain MHF-3 has the following properties: morphological properties: a straight Gram-negative bacillus having polar flagella. culturing properties: well growing by agar plate culture and forming an opaque smooth circular colony. physiological properties: negative to the reduction of nitrates, negative to the hydrolysis of esculin, positive to the liquefaction of gelatin, positive to the lysine decarboxylase activity, etc., and behavior to oxygen: aerobic. |
