Heat insulating mineral fibre blanket

A heat insulating blanket, of mineral fibres having quasi-random orientation, consists mainly of fibres with 2.5-4.5 microns diameter and 2-15cm length and has a density of max. 40 kg./cu.m. The blanket has a compressive strength (to 10% compression) of at least 0.5 kN/sq.m. and a thermal conductivity of max. 0.040 W/mk. It can be applied to a cylindrical surface of diameter at least 300mm without irregularities
