Improvements in or relating to the manufacture of catalysts

A dry mixture of at least two metal oxides is mixed with dry ammonium dichromate or made into a paste by adding a concentrated aqueous solution of ammonium dichromate and the final mixture is heated to decompose the dichromate to give a catalyst. Exemplified oxides are zinc and cupric oxides. The catalyst powder may be pelleted with graphite to a desired size. Regeneration with air and steam gives a catalyst of enhanced activity.
