PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance optical fiber excellent in moisture and heat resistance, hardly causing the protrusion of the core part at a high temp., without breaking out the clad even if a secondary coating is executed at high temp. and free from the deterioration of light transmission efficiency by using a specific curable clad material of optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A monomer (I) having polyalkylene oxide chain substituted fluorine atom for hydrogen atom and having >=2 ethylenic-unsaturated double bond (e.g. acrylic monomer having a structure made by addition of hydroxy alkyl alkylate-diisocyanate addition compound and polyhydric alcohol containing polyalkyleneoxide chain substituted fluorine atom for hydrogen atom) and a polyfunctional curable monomer (II) (e.g. trimethylolpropane acrylate) are blended so as to be (98/2) to (20/80) mixing ratio. Furthermore, an ethylenic- unsaturated monomer (III) containing cyclic amide group, a compound containing thiol group (e.g. mercapto propyl trimethoxy silane) or the like may be blended. |
