PURPOSE:To provide a new compound useful as a therapeutic agent for infectious diseases by viruses, having high activity and low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:SO-75R1 of the formula. The compound of the formula has the following physical and chemical properties. Elemental analysis: C29H34O11. Molecular weight: 559. Melting point: 121-122 deg.C. Specific rotatation; +216 deg.C (c1.0, CHCl3). Solubility in solvent,: soluble in methanol, ethyl acetate, chloroform or acetonitrile and insoluble in n-hexane and water. Color of substance: showing red prism crystal. The compound of the formula is obtained by subjecting a bacterium belonging to the genus Nocardia brasiliensis IFM-0075 (FERM P-13,071) to shaking culture preferably at about 37 deg.C for 1-6 days and extracting SO-75R1 accumulated in the cells with methanol, acetone, etc. |
