The support for a pivot mounted desk top (12) has two pivot mounted vertical uprights (20) positioned one on each side on which the desk-top rests. The uprights (20) can be adjusted in height and locked in position on the frame (11). At least one upright (20) is movably positioned on the desk top (12) and has a sliding-guide (21) which has notches (23, 24) for receiving a bolt (25) fixed onto the frame (11). The upright (20) has a detachable locking-mechanism (41). The slide-guide (21) has a lengthwise slot (22) running axially along the upright (20).
