METHOD FOR MAKING ORGANIC CHLORINE COMPOUNDS HARMLESS

PURPOSE:To convert organic chlorine compounds into harmless compounds by heating the organic chlorine compounds in an atmosphere of inert gas to vaporize them and reacting them with copper oxide at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A fluidized bed 2 part is heated to 400-500 deg.C by a microwave heating device and sand of the riverbed is used as a fluidized medium and fluidized by gaseous argon. A dechlorination reactor 3 is heated to 750-800 deg.C. Next, a polluted sample is fed into the fluidized bed 2 from a hopper 1 by using a screw feeder. Organic chlorine compounds are vaporized in the fluidized bed 2 to form copper chloride in a dechlorination reactor 3 where copper oxide is provided. The copper chloride is collected by a scrubber 4 and recovered as copper hydroxide. Waste gas is passed though an active carbon gas purifier 5 and introduced into the fluidized bed 2 by a blower 6. In such a way, chlorine in the organic compounds is turned into harmless compounds.
