PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from seizing and stalling by providing a warning means for warning an abnormal part in the fuel system of an outboard engine on the basis of the result of judgement whether the inlet pressure measured by an inlet pressure measuring means and the discharge pressure measured by a discharge pressure measuring means reach the preset determined values or not. CONSTITUTION:The discharge pressure P1 of fuel pumps 5, 6 is measured by a pressure gauge 8, and the inlet pressure P2 of the fuel pumps 5, 6 is measured by a negative pressure gauge 9. When a control unit serving as the warning means of an outboard engine 1 judges that the inlet pressure P2 is higher than the determined value it judges that there is abnormality not in a fuel pump system but in suction resistance, and a warning that the suction resistance is too large is announced from an announciator serving as a warning means arranged in a determined part of the outboard engine 1. On the other hand, when the inlet pressure P2 is lower than the determined value and also the discharge pressure P1 is lower than the determined value, the control unit judges that there is abnormality in the fuel pump system, and the warning that the fuel pump system is out of order is announced from the annunciator. |
