PURPOSE: To prepare a solution which consists of a combination of a fibrinolytic enzyme and a surface active copolymer and is capable of showing a synergism on the dissolution of a blood clot, reducing oxygen consumption and inhibiting any adverse reaction from occurring. CONSTITUTION: This solution is a fibrinolytic mixture consisting of a fibrinolytic enzyme such as streptokinase, urokinase or tissue plasminogen activator compound and a surface active copolymer represented by the formula (wherein: (a) is an integer selected so that a hydrophobic part represented by the formula (C3 H6 O)a has a 950 to 4,000 or preferably 1,750 to 4,000 molecular weight; and (b) is an integer selected so that the total amount of the hydrophilic parts represented by the formula (C2 H4 O)b is 50 to 90 wt.% of the weight of the surface active copolymer). This mixture is capable of increasing the blood flow that passes through the peripheral space of a clot obstructing a blood vessel, rapidly dissolving the clot, further preventing a new clot from being formed and reducing blood recirculation disorder. The mixture is effective in reducing the risk of blood vessel obstruction after balloon blood-vessel reconstructive operation, artery tunica intima removal or catheter insertion. |
