FRACTIONAL MEASURMENT OF LACTIC ACID

PURPOSE:To fractionally measure the bacterial number of various kinds of lactic acid bacteria by carrying out anaerobic culture and aerobic culture in a culture medium for lactic acid culture in which agar is added and a culture medium for lactic acid culture in which common salt and agar are added and counting bacterial number in various cases of various kinds of conditions. CONSTITUTION:Lactic acid bacteria containing Streptococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are subjected to anaerobic culture in a culture medium for lactic acid bacterium culture in which agar is added to count the bacterial number N1. Lactic acid bacteria are subjected to aerobic culture in the culture medium in which agar is added to count the bacterial number N2 in the case of aerobic culture. Lactic acid bacteria are subjected to anaerobic culture in a culture medium in which a common salt and agar are added to count the bacterial number N3 and provide the number of Streptococcus faecalis. The number of Bifidobacterium longum can be obtained from the bacterial number N1- the bacterial number N2 or N1-N3-(N2-N3) and the number of Lactobacillus acidophilus can be obtained from N2-N3.
