PURPOSE:To provide the new compound suitable for optical recording materials capable of repeated recording, reproduction and erasing, copying materials, light-modulating materials, printing sensitizers, sensitizing materials for laser, phototypesetting, or optical filters. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I {A is of formula II; B is of formula III [R<3> is an alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or CF3; R<4> and R<5> are each H, an alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, CF3, cyano, or being combined into carbon cycle or heterocycle; Y is O, S or NR<6> (R<6> is H, an alkyl, aryl, or cycloalkyl)]; K is aromatic ring or heterocycle; R<1> and R<2> are each an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or cycloalkyl}, e.g. a compound of formula IV. The compound of the formula I can be obtained, for example, by condensation between a compound of formula V and a compound of formula VI in the presence of an acid catalyst to form a compound of formula VII which is then oxidized and the resulting product is condensed with an aniline derivative of formula VIII. The photochromic compound of the formula I can be irradiated with writing light, erasing light and reproducing light in the corresponding respective absorbing zones sufficiently separated from each other. |
