The telescopic basketball hoop has a support arm attachable to the ridge pole. The arm comprises an upper tubular element (18) articulated at its outer end (20), and a lower tubular element (22) in which the upper tube slides telescopically. The lower end of the lower tube holds the basketball hoop (28) and backboard. A system of pulleys (36) controls the telescopic support arm via cable (38) traction.
