A waterproof joint (4) between two parts (1,2) of a structure supporting a paved surface consists of several strips of waterproof membrane (6) laid horizontally between the supporting slabs (1,2) and the flexible bituminous surfacing. Two composite metal angles (7,8), bolted to the supporting slabs, are fixed, one each side of the joint, with continuous waterproof honeycomb lining (9) between for expansion and contraction. The heads of the bolts (10) are housed in shaped recesses in the extended horizontal legs of the angles with strips of membrane (6) covering them. The waterproof membrane is of elastomer material. USE/ADVANTAGES - Improved design, very high degree of waterproofing and load carrying capacity.
