PURPOSE:To discriminate presence or absence by a method wherein an absence signal is outputted when locking is effected not by thumb turn operation from the indoor side but through operation on the outdoor side, and when locking not by a card is effected from the indoor side, an absence signal is prevented from output. CONSTITUTION:A thumb turn 4 is rotated in an unlocked state from the indoor side and a dead bolt 5 in a retracted state is protruded to produce a locked state during presence in a room. When a user releases the locked state and comes out, a card C is inserted in a reader body 6 from the outdoor side. After through given operation, the dead bolt 5 is brought into a protrusible and retractable state, through rotation of a lever 3a, the dead bolt 5 is protruded and further, an absence signal is outputted from a mounted presence and absence detecting device to lock. When locking is performed from the indoor side not by the card C, an absence signal is not outputted and even when a lock is in a locked state, presence in a room is discriminated. |
