The method for controlling the interval between the lines for the printer comprises the steps of inputting the information for changing the interval between lines, checking the present status of the related station, revising the status when it is normal, transferring the information to printer station, and setting the interval between the lines according to the revised information. Thus this invention enables the interval to the controlled by software.
