PURPOSE:To obtain hollow conjugate yarn having excellent water absorption properties and heat retaining properties, softness and a feeling of lightness in weight by treating multi-core conjugate yarn, comprising a polyester-based polymer containing inorganic fine particles as a core component and a polymer having lower alkali decomposition rate than the polymer or not CONSTITUTION:Multi-core conjugate yarn comprising a modified polyester based polymer containing inorganic fine particles such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or alumina, being readily decomposed and removed with an alkali, as a core component and a polymer such as polyamide or polyethylene having a lower alkali decomposition ratio or not decomposing with an alkali as a sheath component is formed. Then the yarn is subjected to alKali weight- reduction treatment, the polyester is partially dissolved and removed to give hollow conjugate yarn having a ring-shaped hollow part passing through the fiber axis direction, satisfying formula I and formula II when cross-sectional area including the hollow part is T, area of polymer part covering the cross-sectional area is A and area of the polyester part is B. |
