PURPOSE: To provide a water-cooled thermal print head in which the temperature of the head can be sustained at a sufficiently uniform level. CONSTITUTION: The thermal print head assembly 30 comprises a supporting member 34 having a heat transfer surface defining a cavity 36, and a ceramic circuit board 32 having a plurality of heater elements. In order to conduct heat between the cavity 36 and the ceramic circuit board 32 through the supporting member 34, the ceramic circuit board 32 is fixed to the heat transfer surface. The print head assembly 30 is water-cooled and the supporting member 34 forms a heat sink. In the heat sink, cooling water is located closely to a heat source. |
