A door check assembly for holding a pivoted door 12 in either of two open positions I and II comprises a check arm 23 pivoted on a vehicle 11 near the door pivot 13 and spring biassed towards the door, a first pair of abutments 25 and 26 carried by the door and against which the check arm engages in the first open position and a second abutment surface 29 against which the check arm engages in the second open position, the first pair of abutment surfaces and the second abutment surface being on a plate 17 mounted on the door. Rubber stops 31 and 32 prevent the door from opening beyond the second open position. A finger grip 28 enables the arm to be pulled away from the first pair of abutment surfaces to allow the door to open to the second position. The parts of the body shown are made from welded steel pressings and the check arm from spring steel wire.</p> |
