<p>The invention relates to a process for the disinfection and sterilisation of contact lenses, particularly but not exclusively of the soft type, which essentially comprises subjecting these for a predetermined time to the action of nascent oxygen generated by the electrolysis of an isotonic sterile saline solution buffered to the pH value of tear fluid. This invention also relates to a device for implementing the aforesaid process which essentially comprises an electrolytic cell filled with an isotonic sterile saline solution buffered to the pH value of tear fluid in which at least one contact lens is immersed, the said cell being activated for a predetermined length of time. <IMAGE></p> |
