In order to make it possible to broadcast a data packet from one input (I1) to several outputs (01, 02, 03, 06), the connection network, in each switching plane, includes at least one stage (S2) consisting of elementary switches (SE4, SE5, SE6) having at least the following capability: - of routing several copies of a packet having been multiplied upstream (SE1); - of multiplying a packet, retransmitting it several times successively on the same output; the copies thus created are next routed by the elementary switches (SE7, SE8, SE9) of a stage (S3) situated downstream.
