PURPOSE:To provide a burning treatment method of waste tire wherein the value of used tire as fuel is enhanced and the used tire can be recovered and utilized as useful resources. CONSTITUTION:In a burning treatment of used tire, a tire to be burnt is maintained at a temperature in the range of from 350 deg.C to lower than 5o0 deg.C to carbonize the tire without fluidizing it and thereafter air is fed to the carbonized tire to burn it. It is preferable that the carbonizing treatment the tire be performed at a temperature in the range of 350 deg.C to 450 deg.C for longer than 30 minutes in an oxygen deficient atmosphere. As a result, handling of steel wire is made easier and the tire is not required to be cut into chips beforehand, and thermal power can be held easily, generation of black smoke can be avoided, amount of fly ash attached to the surface of steam generator and heat exchanger is reduced, heat exchange efficiency is improved, and a tire burning device can easily be constituted.
