CULTURE MEDIUM FORMING TOOL

PURPOSE:To provide a culture medium forming tool capable of simply forming a culture medium in which microorganisms in a sample liquid are uniformly dispersed. CONSTITUTION:A thin-wall spacer 25 made of a flexible vinyl chloride resin is continuously formed in the circumference of the bottom 23a of a circular Petri dish 23 and a water absorbing mixture 13 consisting of a water absorbing substance and a culture medium is applied to a part laid in the inner side than the spacer 25 of the bottom 23a. When a sample liquid is poured onto the water absorbing mixture 13 and a transparent drop lid 27 made of a rigid vinyl chloride resin and having radius smaller than the inner diameter of the Petri dish 23 and larger than the inner diameter of the spacer 25 is covered, the sample liquid containing the microorganisms are uniformly diffused into the whole space between the drop lid 27 and the bottom 23a by capillarity. The culture medium is formed by allowing the sample liquid to stand in this conditions.
