PURPOSE:To provide the electroluminescent element having a long luminescent life and a high performance. CONSTITUTION:This electroluminescent element having an organic layer between a hole-injected electrode 2 and an electron-injected electrode 5 is characterized by employing a rhodamine metal complex, chromone metal complex or azomethine metal complex as the material of the organic layer or employing the azomethine metal complex as an electron-transfer layer.
