PURPOSE:To prevent exfoliation and improve the surface luster, the hardness and water permeability at a low cost by forming a vitrified layer on the surface of an alumina cement composite material containing a fry ash wool. CONSTITUTION:With a paste of alumina cement as an inorganic hydraulic cement composed mainly of calcium aluminate, 1 to 40wt.% fry ash wool obtained by making a fiber from coal ash is blended to prepare an alumina cement composite material. An aqueous dispersion of a glaze (containing lead), etc., for Raku wear is then applied to the resultant composite material and subsequently dried in air so as to form a vitrified layer. The obtained vitrified layer-containing composite plate is fired in an electric oven at about 800 deg.C, thus producing the objective hardened cement having a vitrified surface. |
