PURPOSE:To inhibit the wasteful consumption of ink, and to conduct the preliminary drive control of a head at high speed even when an ink--jet recording device is left as it is for a prolonged term and even under low-temperature environment. CONSTITUTION:Different drive pulse width data are stored in first and second storage means 38, 39. Drive pulse width data from either storage means are selected by a data selecting means 37 according to selected data set to a printing-dot number counter control section 35. The drive pulses of a head are prepared by a printing-pulse width setting counter 36 and a printing drive- pulse generating section 34 on the basis of selected data. On the other hand, printing data driving a nozzle are prepared by a printing-data processing section 41. The selection of drive pulse width data and printing data prepared are changed by a shelf time and the temperature of the head. |
