PURPOSE:To effectively measure own vehicle's position by means of satellite navigation without requiring waiting time, and discriminate accurately the existence of reliability in measurement by means of the satellite navigation even if a radio wave can be received from a satellite in a vehicular navigation device formed by using GPS and self-contained navigation at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A vehicular navigation device is provided with a GPS receiving part 3 to carry out operation on a speed vector of own vehicle by using a Doppler shift of a radio wave received from a GPS satellite; a self-contained navigation means 2 to carry out operation on a travel vector of own vehicle according to signals obtained from various sensors mounted with one's own vehicle;and a control means 6 to judge whether or not a horizontal directional component of the one's own vehicle speed vector obtained by the GPS receiving part 3 can coincide with the own vehicle travel vector obtained from the self-contained navigation means 2. |
