INTEGRAL METHOD SEPARATING AIR AND FORMING POWER

PURPOSE: To obtain an integrated method and a plant of separating air and generating electric power. CONSTITUTION: Air is compressed by a compressor 4 and a minor air stream taken out of the compressor 4 is cooled by heat exchange with a pressured water stream at a heat exchanger 12. The cooled minor air stream is separated into oxygen and nitrogen at a plant 30. The oxygen is fed through a compressor 32 to a blast furnace to reduce iron ore to iron and low grade fuel gas is produced. The fuel gas is compressed by a compressor 40 and moisturized by water fed from the heat exchanger 12 at a gas-liquid contact tower 18. The moisturized fuel gas is fed into a combustion chamber 6 and combusted with the remain of the compressed air from the compressor 4. The resulting combustion gas are then expanded by an expander 8 with the generation of electric power.
