PURPOSE:To produce high-reliability magnetic heads with a good productivity by forming grooves in both sides of a core block, where a gap part is formed, and by charging a nonmagnetic material in them and by causing the slider face width and the core part width to agree with each other to form a core slider. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 6 are formed in the left and the right of a part, which should be track face 5, on core block 4 where gap 3 is provided, and nonmagnetic material 7 such as low-melting point glass is charged in grooves 6. Next, slider face width Sw and core part width Cw are caused to agree with each other, and the core block is so processed that slider face width Sw may be larger than track face width Tw, thereby forming core slider 8. By this method, both sides of track face Tw are reinforced because they are surrounded with nonmagnetic material 7, so that cheap and high-reliability magnetic heads for magnetic disc memory device can be obtained. |
