<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a discharge lamp ballast where a device for generating pulse for stating can be retained at a specific position regardless of viscosity of a filler and at the same time the degree of freedom of the size of the printed wiring board of the generation circuit can be secured. CONSTITUTION:A ballast main unit 29 and a device 31 for generating pulse for starting connected to it via lead wire 30 are housed inside a ballast case 21 where edge part enclosed plates 23 and 24 are mounted to both edge parts of a cylindrical main body 22 whose both edges are opened and then an electrically insulated filler 32 is filled between the ballast main unit 29, the pulse generation device 31, and the case 21, where a device 31 is laid out between one edge part enclosed plate 24 which becomes a bottom when filling the filler 32 and the main unit 29. Then, a first spacer 38 and a second spacer 39 for positioning the device 31 protrude between the ballast main unit 29 and the edge part enclosed plate 24.</p> |
