<p>PURPOSE:To increase magnetic resistance and to improve reproducing/recording efficiency by specifying the spacing between a surface on which the vapor deposited tape of the magnetic head slides and a winding window to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head to be used for a recording and reproducing device using the tape deposited with a Co magnetic metal by evaporation as a recording medium is formed to 5 to 15mum spacing (gap depth) between the surface on which the vapor deposited tape slides and the winding window. The magnetic head hardly wears if the vapor deposited tape mentioned above is used in such a manner. Then, the limitation of the head size is relieved and the magnetic resistance is increased by decreasing the gap depth, by that the reproducing efficiency and the recording efficiency are improved. The spacing loss is substantially eliminated if the width of the surface on which the vapor deposited tape slides is specified to 20 to 6mum. The magnetic head is usable without requiring long-time aging if the surface radius of curvature in a tape traveling direction is specified to 2 to 6mm and the surface radius of curvature in the direction perpendicular thereto to 1 to 3.5mm.</p> |
