The life boat (B) is mounted on a sled (34), which slides on the longerons (28) of the sub-frame (26). The sub-frame tilts about the axis (24) which is mounted on the chassis (10) which runs on wheels (20). The sled runs on further wheels (54) on the longerons, and the boat rests on guides or rollers (44) on the rails (42) of the sled. The wheels support the rear of the sled as it is pushed out. The boat is carried, launched and recovered with its bow to the rear of the trailer. For transportation, the boat on its sled is pulled forward on the trailer and the sub-frame tilts to the horizontal. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for launching and recovering light craft such as life boats from sloping beaches. The boat is carried well into the water and the least possible water is shipped.
