PURPOSE:To obtain photographic resin-coated paper having high print image resolving power by covering titanium oxide with a surfactant and adding the covered titanium oxide to polyolefin for coating. CONSTITUTION:Titanium oxide is dipped in a solution of a surfactant, e.g. a metal salt of a higher fatty acid such as calcium stearate or zinc stearate, or a tertiary amine salt such as N,N-dimethyllaurylamine hydrochloride or triethanolamine hydrochloride. The dipped titanium oxide is taken out to evaporate the solvent and dried to cover the titanium oxide surface with about 0.1-5wt% of the surfactant. About 1-40wt% of the covered titanium oxide is added to polyolefin resin, and this resin is melted and extrusion-coated onto base paper to form a titanium oxide- containing resin layer of about 5-200, preferably 20-50mu in thickness. |
