PURPOSE:To provide excellent printing appearance quality by stabilizing the fixed amount of a toner on an image carrier on an one component developing device used for an electrophotographic device such as a printer, a copying machine, or the like. CONSTITUTION:A developing device is provided with a surface electric potential measuring means 56 detecting the surface electric potential of a toner layer 46 on a developer carrier 42, and adjusting means 33, 34 adjusting the surface electric potential of the toner layer 46 on the developer carrier 42. The developing device is further provided with a control means 32 adjusting the surface electric potential within an assigned range by indicating the adjusting amount of the surface electric potential to the adjusting means 33, 34 based on the surface electric potential of the toner layer 46 obtained by means of the surface electric potential measuring means 56. |
